Slam Dank Fest Vol.2, in partnership with District, announced the South African debut of legendary death metal pioneers Massacre (USA). For the first time in their career, the band performed live in South Africa, with Cape Town confirmed as one of only two exclusive shows.
This co-hosted event marks a landmark moment for the local extreme metal community, bringing one of the genre’s most respected international names to the Mother City.
After The Fallen Prophets and Mithras Crowned delivered powerful sets, Massacre hit the stage and showed us why they are legendary metal gods.Â

Slam Dank Fest Vol.2 presents the Johannesburg edition of Massacre’s first-ever South African appearance. It took place in Kempton Park as part of the official Slam Dank camping weekend, this show formed one of two exclusive performances in the country.
The event represented a major step forward for the South African metal scene, reinforcing Slam Dank’s commitment to delivering internationally recognized extreme metal acts to local audiences.
With 23 bands over 2 stages, and with Massacre headlining, Slam Dank has proven that they just get better with every festival.
The Eternal Darkness

We Had the privellage of hosting Eternal Katastrophy from Angola. These death metal masters were runners-up in the last Wacken Battle of the Bands. They performed alongside Mithras Crowned from Johannesburg, performing their first Cape Town show.
Supported by local bands: Mysanthrium & Corpse Fortress.
This epic line-up is graced our shores at Daisy Jones Bar (Stellenbosch, Cape Town) on the 15th of November 2026. This was one for the books!

WEAPONS OF MASS DISTORTION

The mosh pits were alive and the distortion was dialled to 11 at Weapons of Mass Distortion, a brutal special edition metal gig hosted by SlamDank Productions in Stellenbosch.Â
MMD 20 FESTIVAL

This trance festival was held in collaboration with MMD Records to celebrate their 20th Anniversary. We will be throwing a banger of an event with multiple international and local trance artists and DJs.
DEFEATED SANITY

Defeated Sanity ravaged South African shores for the first time in 2024. This was to ignite the chaos of their ‘Final Impetus Tour’. Slam Dank proudly hosted the carnage of their tour’s first shows.
KRAANIUM
